Apple releases iOS 6.1 for Public with LTE Support

There have been 5 beta releases of iOS 6.1 before the final release of a stable version for the public. I was beginning to think that this might be an update with many small but noticeable improvement but the only major addition in this version is better support for 4G LTE networks on various cellular carriers worldwide. Go to your settings panel and select software update to get the latest iOS 6.1 on your device.

  1. Hi Rahul,

So my wife hadn’t backed up her pictures on her iPad 3 and I didn’t know that so I mistakenly updated her iPad from the device itself from 5.1.1 to 6.1 since it said an update was available.

How do I go about axtracting a backup of her files without restoring it.

    Any solution here?

    • oops, sorry for the typos!

I need to know a few thing here. Firstly, you updated from your iPad itself (Without connecting to iTunes to your PC/Mac) right? If yes, then I don’t think images could be deleted. All images that are stored on your iCloud will be downloaded on your device. In case you backed up your iPad using iTunes then you can connect it and try to recover from the Backup Section. Let me know if you need more clarification.

  2. i recently got a new ipad retina. supposedly this ipad is lte enabled…. i’m only getting 3G (STC)… any ideas? my iphone 5 is showing LTE with the same operator.
    thank you.

Take your Sim card out.. restart the ipad and put it back it. Pretty common problem. Secondly, make sure that the area you are living in supports LTE network. Try using the iPad in another place to confirm!! Hope this helps :)
